Product Introduction EVA Dow DuPont 40W is a high‑performance hot‑melt‑grade ethylene‑vinyl‑acetate copolymer resin with high VA content. It is widely applied in multiple fields for its outstanding elasticity and softness, oxidation resistance, low‑temperature resistance, thermal stability, adhesion property and food‑contact compliance.
Main Applications
Adhesives and Sealants: Its core application field. Used for manufacturing hot‑melt adhesives, hot‑melt pressure‑sensitive adhesives and sealants. It is extensively applied in perfect‑binding of books, furniture edge‑banding, assembly of automobiles and household appliances, and shoemaking. Characterized by solvent‑free property, environmental‑friendliness and fast curing, it is suitable for automated production lines.
Inks and Coatings ‑Inks: Suitable for solvent‑based inks, traffic paints and blister‑pack heat‑seal coatings, providing excellent adhesion and gloss for printed articles. ‑Coatings: Used to produce various coatings such as wood primers, architectural coatings and automotive coatings with good film‑forming property and adhesion.
Wire and Cable: Suitable for wire and cable sheath materials, especially for scenarios requiring flexibility and specific chemical resistance.
Packaging Materials: Used as laminating adhesives for various substrates including plastics and films, as well as heat‑seal coatings for backing cards of blister packages.
Other Applications: Also includes compounding, industrial applications, wax blends, foamed shoe materials (note: although foamed shoe materials are mentioned in reference data, its high melt index and properties lean more toward adhesion and coating, and it may not be the optimal choice for foaming), refrigerator hoses, gas pipes, civil‑engineering panels, containers and consumer goods.

Processing Technology
Extrusion Molding Used for manufacturing wire‑cable sheaths, films and other products. Extruder temperature setting: Strict temperature control is required; melt temperature shall be kept below 230°C. Screw design: Gradient‑type screw is recommended.
Injection Molding Used for producing specific injection‑molded articles. Barrel temperature: Strict temperature control is required; processing melt temperature shall be kept below 230°C.
Compounding Molding It can be blended and compounded with other polymers or additives to prepare masterbatches or composite materials with targeted properties.
Adhesive and Coating Processing It is the primary processing method for 40W. It is usually mixed with other components such as tackifying resins, waxes, antioxidants and fillers under molten state to produce hot‑melt adhesives, sealants or coating materials. Processing temperature shall be determined according to overall formula characteristics. Operations shall be performed at temperatures sufficient for melting and mixing all components while avoiding thermal degradation (must be kept below 230°C). The finished materials can be further processed via coating, spraying, roller coating and other methods.
